DHAKA (Kashmir English): Anti-India protests continue in Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka, over the shooting and killing of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, a prominent leader during Bangladesh’s 2024 student uprising.
The demonstrations, which began Friday night, have drawn people from across the capital since the morning, with attendance steadily increasing.
Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, 32, died in a hospital in Singapore following a targeted assassination attempt on December 12. He was shot in the head by attackers on a motorcycle when he was traveling in an auto-rickshaw in Dhaka.
He was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where physicians reported severe brain stem damage.
Bangladesh police have launched a nationwide hunt for the attackers, releasing images of two suspects and offering a 5 million taka reward (approximately $42,000) for information. At least 20 individuals have been arrested in connection with the shooting, though investigations remain ongoing.
