Federal Ministers Amir Muqam, Rana Qasim Noon meet AJK PM Faisal Mumtaz

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore held separate meetings with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, and Kashmir Committee Chairman Rana Qasim Noon at Jammu and Kashmir House in Islamabad.

According to the official statement, the federal minister Amir Muqam and Rana Qasim Noon warmly embraced the Prime Minister and congratulated him on assuming office. Both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, the latest situation of the Kashmir issue, and the ongoing and proposed development projects in Azad Kashmir.

During the meeting, they agreed that the Kashmir issue would be effectively highlighted at international forums and human rights violations would be presented more clearly to the international community.

PM Rathore thanked the minister for the support of the Government of Pakistan in the development budget of Azad Kashmir and public welfare projects. Engineer Amir Muqam assured that the federal government will continue all possible cooperation to accelerate the process of construction and development in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

“Joint initiatives in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, health, and tourism were also discussed in the meeting,” the statement reads.

Similarly, the Premier and Federal Minister Qasim Noon discussed effectively highlighting the Kashmir issue at the international level, making parliamentary diplomacy more active, and exposing Indian atrocities at international forums.

“The two leaders discussed issues such as improving the education system in Azad Kashmir, making Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot airports functional and running them with private partnerships, and preparing the feasibility report of Mirpur Airport as soon as possible,” it added.

Both leaders also discussed promoting tourism and especially running a heli service for rest houses in Azad Kashmir. “The two leaders also agreed that a Kashmir conference will be held soon.”

Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that the struggle will continue until the Kashmiri people achieve their right to self-determination. Rana Qasim Noon assured that the Kashmir Committee will raise the voice of Kashmiris more strongly at the global level.
