RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan and his senior lawyer Salman Safdar were allowed to meet him in Adiala Jail today, after the prison administration granted permission.
Speaking to the media after meeting Imran Khan, Uzma Khan confirmed that the former Prime Minister is in good condition, ending the weeks-long speculations about Khan’s health condition.
She further stated that she would speak to the media in detail after consulting with her other two sisters [Aleema Khan and Noreen Khan].
According to sources, the jail authorities permitted the meeting in accordance with the jail manual that no political discussion or activity would take place during or after the interaction.
The decision follows heightened anticipation surrounding the meeting of Imran Khan’s family and lawyers. which made a drop scene today.
In the context of this decision of the jail administration, PTI made a wise decision by nominating only Uzma Khan and Salman Safdar for the meeting, ensuring compliance with jail protocols, sources said.
Officials said that while this permission given by the jail administration is a good and legal decision, it is now the responsibility of the PTI to abide by the rules and regulations so that this series of family and lawyers’ meetings can continue.
According to sources, the prison administration has imposed a condition for the continuation of this series that no political activity or conversation should take place after the meetings; otherwise, this decision may be reconsidered.
