BANNU (Kashmir English): A suicide blast has been reported near Ghora Pull Sawarni under the limits of Basia Khel police station, Bannu, here on Monday.
According to the initial reports, the suicide attacker was riding on a motorcycle, and the attacker blew himself up before he could reach any target.
Fortunately, there was no loss of life or property, and the surrounding area remained safe. The site was immediately cordoned off by police and security personnel, who launched a search for possible facilitators.
The timely awareness of law enforcement and the attacker’s premature detonation prevented a major tragedy, authorities said. Further updates are expected as investigations continue.
Earlier, a suicide blast took place at G-11 Judicial Complex, Islamabad, in which 12 people lost their lives and several others sustained serious injuries.
According to the reporters, the attacker belonged to a part of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan TTP/“Fitna-ul-Khawarij” network.
According to the investigators, the group was working on instructions received from TTP commanders operating from Afghanistan.
