BAKU (Kashmir English): A Victory Day ceremony was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, during which Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and other leaders participated.
On this occasion, the national anthem of Pakistan was played along with the national anthem of Azerbaijan.
This day is celebrated in Azerbaijan in memory of the glorious victory in the Second Karabakh War.
According to details, a special contingent of the Pakistan Army participated in Azerbaijan’s Victory Day Parade, and the Pakistani military contingent, holding the national flag, saluted the guests.
On this occasion, the roar of Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunders and F-16 aircraft stirred the emotions of the spectators.
Pakistani helicopters also participated in a fly-past alongside Turkey and Azerbaijan’s.
Addressing Azerbaijan’s Victory Day ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked President Ilham Aliyev for inviting him on this joyous occasion. He said the world witnessed Pakistan’s military capabilities in the Marka-e-Haq.
He said the Pakistan Armed Forces shot down 7 enemy aircraft. He further stated that participating in the Victory Day ceremony was a matter of pride for him, as he extended congratulations from the people of Pakistan to the government and people of Azerbaijan.
He said Pakistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey have always demonstrated friendship and solidarity; the hearts of Pakistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey beat together.
The Prime Minister said that US President Donald Trump played a role for peace worldwide, and he thanked Azerbaijan and Turkey for standing with Pakistan during Indian aggression.

Addressing the ceremony, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that in the 44-day war, their soldiers achieved victory by sacrificing their lives.
“The Armenian army was dreaming of drinking tea in Baku; their tanks are now displayed as trophies with us. On November 8, we liberated the city of Shusha, which was considered impregnable.”
