MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): November 06, known as the Jammu Martyrs Day, marks one of the darkest chapters in the history of Kashmir, when thousands of innocent souls lost their lives.

Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over are observing Jammu Martyrs’ Day today to reaffirm their resolve to continue the struggle for their UN-recognized right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, November 6 marks one of the darkest and bloodiest chapters in Kashmir’s history, when hundreds of thousands of Muslims were mercilessly massacred by the forces of Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, the Indian Army, and RSS-backed Hindu extremists in various parts of the Jammu region.

On the other hand, posters have appeared in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, urging the people to pay tribute to the Jammu martyrs on their martyrdom anniversary.

Meanwhile, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, there is a public holiday today to officially mark Jammu Martyrs Day.

Special prayers were offered in mosques for the integrity and prosperity of Pakistan, AJK, and the early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Rallies and protest gatherings have been arranged in all small and big cities of the state under the auspices of the Kashmir Liberation Cell, Hurriyat, and religious organizations.

Main ceremony of the Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu will be held in Muzaffarabad under the auspices of the Kashmir Liberation Cell.
