SAMAHNI (Kashmir English): In a bid to maintain law and order, the Assistant Commissioner Sub-Division Samahni Hussam Sajid has proposed a strict ban on fireworks, the sale of firecrackers, and fireworks on account of Shab-e-Barat, to prevent disturbance in the area.
According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Azad and Jammu Kashmir, using fireworks in housing areas is strictly prohibited to ensure public safety in Samahni district.
Furthermore, Section 144 has been imposed for three months, which forbids not more than four people from gathering in any public place. This has been done to ensure public safety and avert the disturbance situation.
The authorities are likely to take strict action in enforcing bans on fireworks and Section 144, and all those who violate these orders will be liable to legal action.
This decision is part of the administration’s efforts to keep the peace and tranquility in that region, especially during festive occasions.
It is important to note here that similar measures were taken earlier to limit the use of fireworks and maintain public order, and the courts in their active campaign have also lent input in shaping the laws and regulations of fire sales.
