PM Shehbaz invites Trump to visit Pakistan, eyes enhanced investment

WASHINGTON, DC (Kashmir English):  Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met US President Donald J. Trump at the White House on Thursday to discuss trade and to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir NI (M), HJ, Chief of the Army Staff, was also present with him. In their cordial and warm meeting, the Prime Minister had high praise for President Trump as a “man of peace” who was committed to making genuine efforts to put an end to conflicts across the world.

The Prime Minister also appreciated President Trump for the tariff agreement reached between Pakistan and the United States this year. The Prime Minister, while reminiscing about the long-standing relationship between the two nations, expressed the hope that with President Trump at the helm, the Pakistan-U.S. relationship would be further energized to the common advantage of the two nations.

For this purpose, the Prime Minister extended an invitation to the U.S. Businesses to invest in Pakistan’s agriculture, IT, mines and minerals, and energy sectors.

He welcomed President Trump’s brave, bold and bold leadership, which had brought about the ceasefire between Pakistan and India and thus saved South Asia from a probable major disaster.

While commenting on the current situation in the Middle East, the Prime Minister welcomed President Trump’s initiatives towards an immediate end to the war in Gaza, particularly his move to invite prominent leaders of the Muslim world in New York, a few days ago, for a detailed exchange of ideas for restoration of peace in the Middle East, specifically Gaza and the West Bank.

Regional security and counter-terrorism cooperation were also discussed by the two leaders. The Prime Minister appreciated President Trump for his public affirmation of Pakistan’s contribution towards counter-terrorism and underlined the importance of increasing cooperation in security and intelligence.

The Prime Minister also extended a warm and friendly invitation to President Trump to make an official visit to Pakistan at his convenience.
