MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): All is set to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day today (Feb 5) throughout Pakistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), besides rest of the world, where Pakistani and Kashmiri Diaspora lives, to reiterate their full support to the people in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The observance of the Day will be a reflection of the renewal of the pledge to extend fullest moral, political and diplomatic support to their legitimate right to self-dedication, being denied by New Delhi for the last 78 years. India has been occupying a bulk part of the globally acknowledged disputed Jammu & Kashmir state in its unlawful and forcible occupation against the aspirations of the people of the state.

The observance of the Kashmir Solidarity Day by over 240 million people of Pakistan every year with one voice suggests that India can in no way delude the world opinion. The people on both sides of the LoC believe that Indian rulers shall have to bow before the explicit will of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir state, who are struggling for last over seven decades to achieve their birth right of self-determination, in line with the UN resolutions.

Kashmiris’ firm resolve

In AJK, all necessary arrangements are in place to observe the Day with traditional zeal and fervour and with the renewal of the Kashmiris’ firm resolve to continue their struggle for the achievement of self-determination.

It would be a state holiday throughout AJK and Pakistan on the occasion as a mark of protest against the continued unlawful Indian occupation over part of Jammu and Kashmir state.

People in Pakistan and AJK observe the Day on February 5 every year not only to renew their deep-rooted love and affection with people in the occupied territory but also to reiterate their commitment and support for them.

The day will dawn with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir, victory of the freedom movement and expression of solidarity with the Kashmiri people facing atrocities at the hands of the Indian forces.
