MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Chaudhry Ahsan Hameed, student leader of the Jammu & Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), requested the citizens of Azad Kashmir not to attend the September 29 protest call.
While talking in an exclusive podcast on Kashmir Digital, he said the writ of the state cannot be challenged, while criticizing the current political system, stating that the region is in chaos due to the absence of leaders with a strong ideological foundation.
“We do not accept the formation of the 32-member core committee as it does not represent the voices of the Kashmiri people”, he added.
Regarding the September 29 protest called by the Public Action Committee, Ahsan Hameed expressed concerns about potential clashes and emphasized the importance of protecting the state.
Hameed criticized the Public Action Committee, suggesting that some members, including businessmen, are pursuing their own interests.
He expressed reservations about the committee’s demands, particularly regarding the quota system for refugees, and suggested that the focus should be on providing opportunities to all citizens on merit.
The leader of a student organization has expressed strong views on the lack of political leadership in Azad Kashmir.
Speaking in a program, he criticized the current political system, stating that the region is in chaos due to the absence of leaders with a strong ideological foundation. He questioned the credibility of the current MLAs, saying that people do not trust them.
Chaudhry highlighted the issue of politicians switching parties frequently, stating that decisions in Azad Kashmir are often made based on federal influence rather than ideological commitment.
