JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old girl died after allegedly getting a wrong injection in the Limnian area of Jhelum Valley.
According to the details, the owner of G-Star Medical Store, identified as Khizr Hayat Abbasi, illegally injected the wrong injection into the girl Laiba, daughter of Rehmat Din, due to which she died.
Deputy Drug Controller/District Drug Inspector Jhelum Valley Raja Shoaib Hussain, acted swiftly and went to the drug store himself along with the drug inspection team. During the investigation, the owner of the medical store attacked the drug inspector
According to the drug inspector, when the store was checked, instead of a qualified person, a non-qualified person, Khizr Hayat Abbasi, was injecting women.
He became angry during the investigation, and his brother Ghazanfar Abbasi also forcibly entered inside, abused her, and threatened to kill her. Illegal drips and syringes were also recovered from the store.
SHO City Hattian Police Station, Balamanzar Hussain Chughtai, has registered a case against the accused and initiated raids to arrest them.
In addition, the Drug Inspector also sealed the medical store of Iftikhar Ahmed Chak for selling medicines in contravention of the Health Department’s advisory and for not having a temperature control system.
The public is demanding that the grave be exhumed and a post-mortem be conducted to find out the real cause of the death of the innocent girl.
They say that most medical stores in remote areas are run by unqualified people; such stores should be sealed permanently, and their licenses should be cancelled so that the cycle of playing with human lives can end.
