MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In light of the bad weather conditions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Elementary and Secondary Education Department has announced five-day school holidays across the region.
According to the notification, all governmental and private institutions will remain closed for five days, i-e, from August 19 till August 23, 2025.
The holidays have been granted due to the persistent heavy rainfall across Azad Kashmir, which may cause potential flash floods and landslides.
Earlier, the Bagh administration issued a notification announcing a two-day holiday in Bagh amid the severe weather.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a high flood alert in Azad Kashmir, while persistent rainfall in nearby areas has caused severe destruction.
