LAHORE (Kashmir English): The government of Punjab has introduced an internship scheme for agriculture graduates as a part of its initiatives to empower the youth and boost the agricultural industry.
2,000 graduates will be provided with an internship under the initiative introduced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The scheme has been introduced to extend practical training and a monthly stipend to young professionals entering the agricultural profession.
Monthly Stipend
The shortlisted candidates will be provided with an intern stipend of Rs60,000 per month throughout their internship period. The scheme aims to close the gap between theoretical education and practical experience, allowing the interns to make a positive contribution towards developing the province’s agricultural sector.
Eligibility
Candidates must have a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture Sciences or equivalent degree as recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). They should also be below 25 years of age on the application closing date.
Deadline
The deadline for the application is August 15, 2025. The application should be accompanied by a hard copy of the application, certified copies of academic documents, identity proof, domicile, and two passport-size photographs taken recently. The application should be sent to the Director of Agriculture (Extension), respective districts.
The Punjab Department of Agriculture is managing the program and has established a helpline (0800-17000) for inquiries. One can apply between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
The internship scheme mirrors the Punjab government’s focus on youth development and agricultural innovation, as per the vision of “Sona Ugalta Punjab.”
