KOTLI (Kashmir English): The Kotli District Council has approved a budget for the financial year 2025-26, amounting to Rs218.5 million, with Rs162.2 million allocated for development projects and Rs25 million for administrative expenses.
The budget was presented by Member District Council Malik Shahnawaz and approved with a majority vote by the council members.
The budget meeting was attended by over 50 members of the District Council, including women members, former Administrator Abdul Qayyum Qamar, Vice Chairman Sardar Umair Naeem, and Chief Officer Chaudhry Muhammad Ishaq.
The district council has projected the estimated income for the FY 2025-26 to be Rs 213 million.
Chairman District Council Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Javed Advocate congratulated all members, particularly women members, for their role in presenting a balanced budget. He emphasized the council’s priority to play a role in solving public problems and ensuring fair distribution of funds.
The members of the District Council congratulated the Chairman and Chief Officer for presenting the best budget, highlighting their efforts in achieving a balanced budget.
