MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has approved a 30 per cent increase in Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) for government employees.
According to the notification, the increase in allowance will be effective from July 1, 2025, and will be calculated based on the basic pay as of June 30, 2022.
Moreover, it added that employees in BPS-1 to BPS-22 who are already drawing DRA will receive the allowance under the same terms and conditions as provided in the Office Memorandum dated August 16, 2022.
For employees appointed before July 1, 2022, the allowance will be based on their basic pay as of June 2022, the notification stated.
“For those employees appointed on or after July 1, 2022, the allowance will be admissible based on the relevant initial Basic Pay Scale of 2017.”
The disparity allowance is designed to bridge pay gaps between different grades and ensure fair compensation.
