RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Hundreds of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers held a Peoples Grand Jirga in Rawalakot, expressing their disagreement with recent party decisions. The jirga was attended by officials of the Peoples Youth Organization and the Peoples Students Federation.
Former Chairman Peoples Youth Organization, Sardar Babrak Sharif, also announced to participate in the upcoming elections from Poonch 4 City Rawalakot.

Sharif, who was removed from his party post for supporting the Awami Action Committee, emphasized that no one can expel them from the party.
The speakers at the jirga strongly reacted to the recent party decisions, questioning the authority of the parliamentary party to make decisions on behalf of the Central Executive Committee. They clarified that the party’s decision to support the Anwar government was not to separate from the party.
The jirga highlighted the growing rift within the PPP, with some workers expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership and decisions. The event demonstrated the determination of the party workers to assert their views and participate in the party’s decision-making process.
Sardar Babrak Sharif emphasized that they will also seek a ticket from the party for the upcoming elections, underscoring their commitment to the party despite internal differences.
