Justice Khawaja Naseem sworn in as Acting Chief Justice of AJK Supreme Court

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Senior Justice Supreme Court Justice Khawaja Muhammad Naseem took the oath as the Acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Justice Raza Ali Khan administered the oath to him.

The oath-taking ceremony was held in the lobby of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Justice High Court Justice Sardar Liaquat Hussain, Judge High Court Justice Syed Shahid Bihar, and Former Chief Justice High Court Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja.

Custodian of evacuee property, Secretary General and officers of the Supreme Court High Court Bar, officers of the Bar Council, President and officers of the Central Bar Muzaffarabad, Chairman Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, Chairman Environmental Tribunal, also participated in the ceremony.

Member Service Tribunal, Hajj Election Tribunal, District Hajj Muzaffarabad, District Qazi Muzaffarabad, Member Law Commission, Law Officers, current and former officers and members of the Bar Council, Secretary Law, Registrar Supreme Court, and a large number of senior lawyers attended the event.

The ceremony formally began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat Rasool Maqbool (peace be upon him). The Secretary of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs read out the notification of the appointment of the Acting Chief Justice. Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan has left for a private visit abroad, and during his leave, Justice Khawaja Muhammad Naseem will perform the constitutional duties as the Acting Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
