LAHORE (Kashmir English): Pakistani fast bowler Ihsanullah has left fans shocked after announcing he might quit cricket due to a personal disagreement with a teenage friend named Abdullah. The 22-year-old, once hailed as one of Pakistan’s most promising fast bowlers, recently revealed in an interview that he is stepping away from the sport simply because his friend is upset with him.
This unusual reason has quickly gone viral online, especially after Ihsanullah posted several strange videos, including one where he appears to be forcing himself to cry. These actions have sparked widespread concern among fans and mental health professionals, who believe the young cricketer may be struggling emotionally.
Supporters are now urging the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Peshawar Zalmi to step in and provide Ihsanullah with proper mental health support. Experts stress that visible signs of distress like these should be taken seriously and addressed immediately to prevent further harm.
Ihsanullah burst onto the scene as one of the fastest bowlers in Pakistan, regularly clocking speeds above 150 kph.
He made his mark in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with Multan Sultans, delivering the fastest spell in PSL history and winning both the Player of the Tournament and Bowler of the Tournament awards in 2023.
His international debut came the same year, but his rapid rise was interrupted by a serious elbow injury sustained during a home series against New Zealand.
The injury, and subsequent surgery, sidelined him for a significant period and led to a difficult rehabilitation process.
Despite his efforts to return, his career has been marred by fitness struggles and controversy over the handling of his medical treatment, including allegations of a botched surgery and mismanagement by cricket authorities.
In 2025, he joined Peshawar Zalmi, but was not selected for any match in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 10).
