HATTIAN BALA (Kashmir English): A delegation of traders and members of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) Hattian Bala met with the Deputy Commissioner of Jhelum Valley District to discuss the ongoing severe power crisis in the area.
The delegation expressed deep concern over the prolonged and unannounced load shedding, low voltage, and its devastating effects on business activities in Hattian Bala.
The traders demanded that load shedding be completely eliminated immediately. The delegation called for improved electricity transmission to ensure a stable power supply.
The president of Anjuman Tajiran Hattain Bala said that the power outage is not only affecting the livelihood of small traders, but also the citizens are facing severe difficulties.
The electricity authorities announced a 50% reduction in load shedding, assuring the traders that WAPDA officials would be obliged to resolve their problems immediately.
Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Valley assured the delegation of full cooperation and stated that the district administration is well aware of the public problems. DC promised to issue instructions to the relevant institutions to provide relief to the public as soon as possible.
The traders’ association warned that if the situation does not improve immediately, a full-scale protest plan will be adopted.
