WASHINGTON, DC: Pakistan’s envoy to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has said that the Kashmir issue has regained the attention of diplomatic, governmental, intellectual, and educational circles worldwide, state-run PTV World reported.
In an exclusive TV interview, the Pakistani ambassador stated that meetings between high-level Pakistani delegations and U.S. policymakers will further help highlight this longstanding issue.
Ambassador Sheikh responded to Indian leaders’ provocative remarks and discussed the visit of a high-level Pakistani delegation to the U.S.
He stressed that the Kashmir issue remains the biggest barrier to South Asia’s development and praised the U.S. role in securing a ceasefire and bringing the dispute to global attention.
Ambassador Sheikh described South Asia as the world’s most sensitive region due to its tense history. He accused India of promoting Hindutva in its policies and expressed concern over its expansionist ambitions.
He further stated that India’s provocations aim to distract from electoral losses and governance failures, warning that rising tensions in a nuclear region pose a serious threat to global stability.
Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh’s remarks underscore the gravity of the Kashmir issue and its broader implications for peace and stability in the region.
