LAHORE (Kashmir English): Popular Pakistani TikToker and social media personality Nadeem Mubarak, also known as Nadeem Nani Wala, has been arrested in Lahore, Pakistan, after allegedly breaking traffic laws, trying to escape from police, and hindering authorities during a traffic stop.
Police say that law enforcers tried to stop a luxurious car with black-tinted windows and “Applied For” number plates during routine traffic enforcement. But the driver started arguing with the police, refused to stop the car, and started fleeing.
The car then reportedly entered one-way traffic to escape law enforcement. The FIR states that the suspect is being accused of dangerous driving, obstructing a public servant, and making a threat to a public servant.
The FIR has been registered under sections 279, 186, and 189 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and the suspect has been taken into custody. The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the court on Monday.
Punjab Police officials stressed the importance of taking firm action against vehicles operating without proper license plates, with illegal tinted windows, and “Applied For” plates. Police also added that they are going to provide equal treatment to every person in terms of traffic laws, regardless of their social media fame or public persona.
This arrest is being conducted amid a wider crackdown on road safety violations in Lahore by local traffic officials, which has involved targeting speeding cars, unauthorized window tints, and cars with “Applied For” plates. Police maintain that the campaign is aimed at enhancing road safety in the city. Punjab Police officials praised the promptness with which they took action and added that the operation will prove to all of the public servants and influencers out there that the law is the same for everybody.
