MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are set to witness heavy rain and thunderstorms in isolated areas.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has urged local authorities to take precautionary measures to mitigate any possible emergency that may arise due to the inclement weather.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Thunderstorms and lightning have been predicted in several districts of Azad Kashmir, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next 36 hours.

Rain is also likely in the districts of Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, and Narowal.

Strong winds, dust storms and thunderstorms are likely to affect large parts of Punjab including Rawalpindi and the federal capital Islamabad.

Similar weather conditions are also likely in Chitral, Battagram, Kohistan, Kohat, Kurram, and Bannu, while thunderstorms are also likely in the districts of Mardan, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.
