ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and the zonal committees will meet at their respective headquarters on May 27 for sighting of the Zilhaj moon with the chances of Eid-ul-Adha 2025 falling on June 7.
If the Zilhaj moon is sighted on May 27, Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on June 6 (Friday). If the moon is not sighted on that day, Eid will be celebrated on June 7 (Saturday).
The final decision on the Eid-ul-Adha day will be announced on May 27, following the meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committees scheduled for that day in Islamabad.
Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Allama Abdul Khabeer Azad will chair the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Local media has quoted astronomers as having predicted that the moon will likely be sighted on May 28, which may make Eid-ul-Adha fall on June 7.
Special trains on Eid
Furthermore, Pakistan Railways has announced the operation of five special trains on the occasion of Eid ul Adha, to facilitate passengers traveling to various cities.
According to a Railways spokesperson, the special trains will run between June 2 and 4 from multiple stations across the Pakistan.
According to the schedule released by PR, the first special train will depart from Karachi Cantt to Lahore at 1:00 pm on June 2.
The second train will depart from Quetta for Peshawar Cantt at 10:00 am on June 3.
The third train will leave Lahore for Karachi Cantt at 5:00 pm on June 3.
The fourth train will depart from Karachi City for Rawalpindi at 8:00 pm on June 3.
The fifth special train will leave Karachi Cantt for Lahore at 8:00 pm on June 4.
