11 shopkeepers arrested over profiteering in Muzaffarabad, shops sealed

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Muzaffarabad administration, while cracking down, arrested 7 butchers for selling expensive meat, while 4 shopkeepers were taken into custody for selling expensive vegetables and fruits.

According to the details, the Chairman Price Control Committee/Additional Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad had fixed new rates for small and large meat, which the butchers did not implement, resulting in the sealing of the shops.

Magistrate Hammad Bashir, along with the Post Officer Jalalabad and the personnel of the police station, arrested seven butchers for selling at high prices.

On the other hand, Assistant Commissioner Rural Yasir Bukhari took action against the high-priced sellers in Tahli Mandi, District Complex, and arrested 4 shopkeepers, while many sellers were also fined.

There are strict instructions from the administration that new rates have been fixed, which will not be violated under any circumstances, and such actions should continue.
