ABU DHABI (Kashmir English): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially updated its visa policy, announcing a list of 107 countries whose citizens must obtain a visa before entering the country.

The decision largely affects nations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

The UAE, known for its tourism, booming economy, and global connectivity, continues to refine its entry regulations to balance hospitality with security.

The latest update ensures streamlined travel procedures and enhanced monitoring of inbound visitors.

According to the updated list, citizens from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Nigeria, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka must apply for a visa prior to arrival.

Countries requiring visa to enter UAE

The comprehensive list features 107 nations including Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Philippines, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Turkey, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Palau, Samoa, and Tuvalu.

This list highlights the UAE’s structured approach toward immigration, ensuring that international visitors meet the nation’s travel and security protocols before entry.

UAE Visa ban for nine countries

In addition to the new visa requirements, the emirates has temporarily banned tourist and work visas for citizens of at least nine countries, citing administrative and regulatory concerns.

The affected nations include Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Liberia, the Republic of Benin, Congo, and Burundi.

This suspension applies to both tourist and employment categories, with the UAE authorities insisting that the restrictions are temporary and subject to review based on future policy adjustments.

The updated visa framework for 2025 reflects its dual priorities —economic openness and border control. As one of the most visited destinations for work, business, and tourism, the UAE continues to attract millions of visitors annually.

By refining its visa system, the nation aims to check fraudulent travel activities, streamline entry approvals, and enhance visitor data verification.

Travelers from visa-required nations are advised to apply in advance through UAE embassies or authorized visa centres with passport validity of at least six months before application.
