LAHORE (Kashmir English): Popular YouTuber Rajab Butt has apologized for making an inappropriate joke regarding child sexual abuse. A few days ago, a video of a TikTok Live session featuring Rajab Butt and ZaidAliT went viral on social media.
In the video, while commenting on Zaid’s facial expressions, Rajab Butt made a joke involving the sensitive topic of child sexual abuse, drawing severe criticism from social media users.
Rajab Butt has now issued an apology via an Instagram story, acknowledging that his remarks in the video were highly inappropriate and completely unacceptable; he stated that such a joke is indefensible under any circumstances.
He further noted that while such jokes have unfortunately become commonplace in society—particularly in male social circles—this does not make them right or acceptable.
He admitted that, given the gravity of the issue in the country, he should have exercised greater sensitivity. The YouTuber also apologized to anyone whose feelings were hurt or whose past traumas were triggered by his words.
He clarified that although the viral video was old, its age did not justify his remarks; he is striving to learn from his mistakes and aims to be more responsible and cautious regarding his words and their impact in the future.
