Youm-e-Tashakur being observed today in Azad Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In line with the nationwide celebrations, the people of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan are observing a Youm-e-Tashakur to honour the historic success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, a military response to Indian aggression.

The events are being marked by various forms of proud celebrations including flag hoisting ceremonies, expressions of national pride, and high praise for the country’s armed forces.

 

Youm-e-Tashakur celebrations across Azad Kashmir

In Muzaffarabad, a ceremony marking Youm-e-Tashakur was held at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, where a disciplined police contingent presented a salute. Minister Choudhry Rashid presided over the flag-hoisting ceremony, attended by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Azad Kashmir and other senior officials. Special prayers were offered for the country’s progress and prosperity.

A Youm-e-Tashakur ceremony was also held at Government Shaheed Jahangzeb Abbasi Girls High School, beginning with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The event included flag-hoisting, with students paying tribute to the Pakistan Army for its remarkable achievements.

The girls enthusiastically chanted slogans in support of the armed forces and offered special prayers and Quranic recitations for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of the nation. Prayers were also made for the country’s prosperity and the continued success of the Pakistan Army.

The passion of the students and teachers was evident as they expressed love and support for the Pak forces and celebrated its victories with great pride and admiration.

In Kotli, the Minister for Rehabilitation Javed Budhanvi and Deputy Commissioner (R) Major Nasir Rafiq took the lead in the Youm-e-Tashakur ceremony. The atmosphere was charged with patriotic spirit as attendees raised chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Paindabad”.

Minister Javed Budhanvi, while addressing the gathering, described Youm-e-Tashakur as a day filled with enthusiasm and a spirit of national unity. He highlighted that the professional capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces have made the whole nation proud.

Participants also lauded the bravery and performance of the Pakistan Air Force officers and pilots involved in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.

Referring to the background of the operation, the minister recalled how Pakistan had pledged to respond to Indian military aggression and the brutal killing of its citizens.

According to him, the armed forces fulfilled their promise to the nation, restoring honour and delivering justice. He also expressed deep gratitude to Allah for the countless blessings and support, stating that the nation bows in humble prayer.

Members of APCA, non-gazetted employee organisations, students, and other local citizens also took part in the ceremony, making it a moment of shared pride and unity.

Following nationwide celebrations, Bhimber also observed Youm-e-Tashakur to honour the success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.

The event was held at the DC Office, where a flag-hoisting ceremony took place. Patriotic chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pakistan Armed Forces Zindabad” filled the air. National and Kashmiri anthems were also played.

The rally, led by Deputy Commissioner Ch Haq Nawaz, SSP Ch Muhammad Amin, District Council Chairman, Bar Association President Ch Manzoor Hussain Advocate and others.

A large number of people participated, including civil society members, lawyers, journalists, traders, local administration officials, police, traffic police, students, teachers, and citizens from all walks of life.

Youm-e-Tashakur highlighted national unity and pride in the armed forces’ achievements against Indian aggression. It continues to be a symbol of national resistance and military competence, celebrated not only in Azad Kashmir but across the entire country.
