MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are set to witness light rainfall, whereas pleasant weather continued throughout the morning.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) mainly expects hot and dry weather in most parts of the country. More rain-wind/thundershowers are expected in south Balochistan and lower Sindh. Heavyfalls are also expected on the Makran coast.

The weather is expected to remain hot and dry in most of the flood-affected districts of Punjab during the next few days.

According to the Met Office, heavy rains may cause urban flooding/coastal flooding in low-lying areas of Lasbela, Pasni, Ormara, Awaran, Turbat, Gawadar, and the Makran coast.

Windstorm/lightning may damage weak structures (the roof/wall of Kacha houses, electric poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels) in coastal areas of Balochistan during the forecast period.

Earlier, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) urged local authorities to take precautionary measures to mitigate any possible emergency that may arise due to the inclement weather.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a well-marked low-pressure area is located over the northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining. This system is likely to move westward and gradually weaken into a Low Pressure Area during the next 12 hours.
