ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), extreme heat and humidity will continue in most parts of the country today, while there is a possibility of wind and thunderstorms at a few places in the upper areas.
The Meteorological Department says that a weak westerly wind is affecting the upper areas, while a low-pressure system is present in the western part of Balochistan, due to which there will be rain in certain areas.
According to the forecast, rain with thunderstorms is expected in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan in the evening or night.
The weather will remain hot and humid in most parts of the country today, while there is a 35 percent chance of rain with thunderstorms in Islamabad and its surroundings on Friday evening or night.
Intense heat and humidity will continue in Punjab for the next two days. However, today, Friday, there may be scattered thunderstorms and rain in Murree, Galiyat, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Khushab, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal and Kasur.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to stay aware of the latest weather conditions, especially in areas where thunderstorms and rain with thunder have been predicted.
