ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has opened the online registration portal for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, which is planned to be conducted nationally on August 16, 2026.
Students interested in getting an admissions seat in medical/dental colleges in Pakistan must apply before the July 8, 2026 deadline to avoid being charged a late fee. PMDC allows last-minute registrations; however, till July 13, 2026, you may have to pay late fees. Candidates are encouraged to register and submit their forms well within the given deadlines to prevent complications while applying for MDCAT 2026.
Keep in mind that PMDC will keep updating its official site regarding upcoming events related to MDCAT 2026. Please don’t believe other sources of information because most of them spread misinformation about the MDCAT 2026.
The MCAT continues to be a mandatory prerequisite for admission into both the public & private medical and dental colleges throughout Pakistan.
Therefore, thousands of future Doctors/Dentist’s have been appearing in the exam this august.
MDCAT centers
In Sindh, MDCAT will be conducted under IBA University, Sukkur; the University of Health Sciences, Lahore will conduct the admission test in Punjab, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, and in Balochistan, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Quetta will oversee MDCAT.
The examination in Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Riyadh will be conducted by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad.
MDCAT in Sindh will take place in centers established in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. In Punjab, candidates will participate in the test in 14 different cities.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, examination centers will be set up in 8 cities including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat and Abbottabad, while candidates in Balochistan will be able to take the exam in Quetta, and a test center will also be set up in Riyadh for international candidates.
The PMDC further announced that once the examination center is selected, it cannot be changed later.
MDCAT will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions, and there will be no negative marking in the exam.
In addition, candidates will have to complete online registration through the MDCAT portal, while incomplete applications will not be accepted. The MDCAT syllabus and other details will be available on the PMDC website.
PMDC has also clarified that the council reserves the right to change the examination schedule if necessary.
