CHARLESTON, USA (Kashmir English): A family in the United States has had their pet parrot, Spoodles, recognised as the world’s oldest living at the age of 32 years and 86 days.
Guinness World Records confirmed that Spoodles holds the title of the oldest living parrot. The bird is owned by Amanda Beth of Charleston, South Carolina.
Amanda Beth stated that she often joked the bird never dies, which is why she continues to feed the parrot regularly.
The parrot was gifted in 1997
Beth added that Spoodles was gifted to her family in 1997 when it was just three years old.
The bird is now less talkative than in his early life, although it still begins each morning by greeting with the words “beautiful bird”.
Beth said that the parrot has a pleasant personality and that its former owner was a kind woman.
It is generally believed that parrots live between 15 and 20 years in domestic or caged environments.
