WASHINGTON, D.C: U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could get directly involved in the growing conflict between Israel and Iran if the situation gets worse.

According to an off-camera conversation with senior American journalist Rachel Scott, President Donald Trump stated that while the United States is not currently involved in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, it may be drawn in depending on the situation.

The conflict between Israel and Iran has intensified, with both sides launching missile attacks. Donald Trump said the U.S. is watching closely and hopes for a peaceful solution, but added that the country is prepared to act if its interests are threatened. “The U.S. could get involved,” Donald Trump said, “if things go further.”

He praised Russian President Vladimir Putin’s efforts to mediate the conflict, calling Russia’s role in facilitating a ceasefire “commendable.”

Donald Trump also confirmed that nuclear negotiations with Iran are ongoing.

“Following Israel’s recent strikes, there is hope that Iran might now agree to a nuclear deal,” he said, expressing cautious optimism about a potential diplomatic breakthrough.

Earlier, in a social media post on his platform Truth Social, Donald Trump had said that a peace deal between Israel and Iran would be reached “very soon.”

Trump did not offer any details about the meetings or evidence of progress toward peace. His assertion contradicted comments by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said on Saturday that Israel’s campaign against Iran would intensify.

Israel and Iran launched fresh attacks on each other overnight into Sunday, leading to widespread damage and casualties.

At the same time, global leaders, including those from Germany, France, and the UK, are urging calm and pushing for a return to nuclear talks with Iran. Turkey, Russia, and Cyprus have also shown interest in helping end the crisis.
