DUBAI (Kashmir English): An important advisory has been issued for Pakistani nationals seeking employment in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), under which a police character certificate has been made mandatory for employment visas.

According to the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment, the UAE government has made a good conduct certificate, also known as a police character certificate, mandatory for all Pakistani employment visa applicants from July 20, 2026.

The advisory has directed Pakistani job seekers to obtain a police character certificate from the relevant Pakistani authority before submitting their visa application.

According to the bureau, after obtaining the certificate, it will also be necessary to get it verified by the UAE embassy in Pakistan. The authorities have advised applicants to complete all the required documents before starting the visa process to avoid any delays or legal complications later.

The Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment has urged all job seekers as well as licensed overseas employment promoters to ensure full compliance with the new guidelines.

Timely completion of the required documents can help facilitate the employment visa process, so Pakistani citizens going to the UAE for employment should obtain information about the current documentation and verification procedures from the relevant agencies before submitting their applications.

Due to the new requirement, it is necessary for Pakistanis seeking employment in the UAE to include a police character certificate among the important documents in their visa application.
