ABU DHABI (Kashmir English): The United Arab Emirates has unveiled the Mohammed bin Rashid Government AI scholarships, a flagship initiative designed to cultivate a new generation of leaders equipped to shape the nation’s future.

Announcing the program, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, described the fellowships as a “strategic investment in human capital” that goes beyond education by preparing Emiratis with skills essential for long-term prosperity.

“This is the path toward the future we aspire to, one that guarantees sustainable progress for our country and people,” Al Gergawi said.

The program launches with two specialized master’s tracks:

These will be delivered in collaboration with globally renowned universities, selected according to the 2026 global university rankings, recognized for excellence in public sector innovation and executive education.

Partner institutions include:

  • Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (50 fellows)

  • University of Oxford (25 fellows)

  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (25 fellows)

  • New York University (40 fellows)

  • Georgetown University (60 fellows)

In its first phase, exceptional Emirati professionals from government institutions will be nominated. A total of 200 fellows will be evenly distributed between the two areas of study, with 100 specializing in economic strategy and international policy, and 100 focusing on applied AI in government.

Graduates will gain advanced expertise in policy design, international strategy, and digital transformation, strengthening the UAE’s capacity for innovation and global competitiveness.

Al Gergawi emphasized that investment in people remains the cornerstone of the UAE’s vision for sustainable development, with economic strategy, AI, and international policy forming the foundation of national progress.
