JEHLUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): A Chham waterfall car accident in Jhelum Valley occurred late at night, killing two men as their vehicle fell into a ravine, with locals and the Pakistan Army later recovering their bodies.

A car accident occurred late last night near the Chham Waterfall, Jehlum Valley, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) where a vehicle lost control and fell into a deep ditch. The unfortunate incident resulted in the tragic deaths of two people.

The victims, recognised as Saqib, son of Muhammad Ishaq, and Basharat, son of Jamal Din, were from the Gujjar community. Both men died on the spot due to the severe impact of the crash.

The accident happened late at night when nobody could detect and report the collision. The vehicle’s ruined condition became visible to the residents during their early morning walk through the area. The people who found the accident immediately started rescue efforts and contacted the emergency services.

An operation to recover the bodies was done with the help of Pakistan Army staff who helped remove the victims from the accident site. The rescue operation became complicated due to rough terrain, yet local citizens with army service members successfully extracted the victims from the scene.

The residents of the area voiced their dismay and concerns after the Chham waterfall car accident. One being regarding the addition of safety features to the dangerous roadway near Chham Waterfall. People have asked the authorities to establish better safety measures by installing protections and markings on the area in order to stop more accidents from happening.
