WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): US President Donald Trump has announced a humanitarian initiative named “Project Freedom,” aimed at assisting international commercial vessels stranded in the strategically sensitive Strait of Hormuz amid ongoing regional tensions.
In a statement, Trump said several countries had approached the United States requesting assistance in safely guiding their ships through the waterway, which has been affected by instability linked to the broader dispute involving Iran.
