LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that the tri-nation T20 series will be held in November as per its schedule despite the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) says that it will not participate in the tri-nation series in Pakistan to be held in November, in which Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan were to participate.

A PCB spokesperson said that after Afghanistan’s refusal, the option of a third team is being looked at and arrangements are being made, and a decision in this regard will be taken very soon.

The Zimbabwe Cricket Board has been approached by the PCB to participate in the tri-nation series.

According to sources, Zimbabwe is likely to replace Afghanistan in the T20 series. Now, this series is expected to be between Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe.

The tri-nation series is scheduled in Pakistan in November 2025; now, its new schedule is expected to be announced soon.

It should be noted that the tri-nation T20 series in Pakistan is scheduled from November 17 to 29.

Afghanistan Withdrawal

Earlier, the Afghanistan Cricket Board announced its withdrawal from the tri-nation series to be held in Pakistan.

The Afghan Cricket Board has also followed in the footsteps of the Indian Cricket Board.

Due to the recent tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Afghan Cricket Board has canceled matches with Pakistan.

The first match of the tri-nation series was scheduled for November 17 between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Rawalpindi.

The match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan was to be played in Rawalpindi on November 19.

the remaining five matches of the tri-nation series were to be played in Lahore, while the final was scheduled for November 29 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Moreover, the Sri Lankan team is to visit Pakistan in November, and three ODI matches will be played between the two teams from November 11 to November 15.
