LAHORE (Kashmir English): The wicket-keeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan is likely to be removed from the captaincy of the One-Day International team.
According to sources, the issue of changing the captain of the ODI team has been raised in view of the World Cup 2027.
White-ball head coach Mike Hesson has raised the issue of changing the captain of the team.
In this regard, the PCB says that Mike Hesson has recommended calling a meeting and has officially written a letter to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
In the letter, Mike Hesson has said that a meeting of the Selection and Advisory Committee should be called to decide on the captain.
Sources say that the think tank has held initial consultations regarding the change of captaincy, and talks have been going on with one candidate for a few days.
According to sources, the strong candidate has asked for a full guarantee until the World Cup 2027, and the strong candidate has also expressed his desire for a free hand in matters.
Babar Azam, Salman Agha, and Shaheen Afridi are among the candidates in case of Mohammad Rizwan’s removal, with the latter being the frontrunner.
