Edu Ministry invites bids for construction of Daanish School in Neelum

NEELUM (Kashmir English): The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has invited bids for the construction of a Daanish School in Sharda, Neelum district, marking a major step forward for educational development in the valley.

According to the official document, the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) cost for the bid is fixed at Rs 1.82 billion, while the bid security amount has been set at Rs 91.26 million.

The sealed bids will be opened on October 21, at 2:30 pm, through the Project Management Unit of the education ministry.

The notice further stated that the last date and time for submission of tender applications on the EPADS portal is October 21 at 2:00 pm.

The Ministry has called upon contractors, firms, and companies registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the appropriate category to participate in the tender process.

The tender process will be conducted under seven specific conditions, ensuring transparency, quality, and adherence to the government’s development standards, the notice stated.

Locals in Neelum have expressed deep gratitude to both leaders, terming the Daanish School project a historic step toward educational empowerment in the region.

Earlier, the federal government announced that 11 new Daanish schools will be established in the country under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26, including three in Azad Kashmir.

Under the PSDP, it was announced that Gilgit Baltistan will get three such schools, Balochistan will get four, and one Daanish School will be established in Islamabad.

Earlier in July, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal approved Rs3.42 billion for the establishment of Daanish schools in AJK.

According to the state-run APP, the CDWP approved six such school projects with a cost of Rs 19.253 billion. A project of Rs 2.92 billion was approved for the Kan Mehtrai, Qila Saifullah district of Balochistan.
