MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has extended summer vacations in schools across the region in the summer zone by another four days.
According to a notification issued by the Secretariat Elementary and Secondary Education on Sunday, all public and private schools in the summer zone will remain closed from August 10 to August 13, 2026.
Moreover, a separate notification stated August 14 will be observed as a public holiday on account of Independence Day across the region, while August 15 and 16 will be observed as regular Saturday and Sunday holidays.
As a result, students in the summer zone will enjoy an additional week of holidays, with educational institutions scheduled to reopen on August 17, Monday.
