MUMBAI (Kashmir English): Indian women’s cricketer Smriti Mandhana has created history in women’s international cricket, becoming the batter with the most international centuries and runs.
Indian opener Smriti Mandhana on Thursday broke the world record for scoring the most runs in women’s international cricket.
Smriti Mandhana achieved this milestone during the group stage match of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 against Hong Kong at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The 30-year-old Indian opener had scored 10,756 runs in international cricket before the match, but she broke former Indian captain Mithali Raj’s record by scoring a magnificent century.
Mandhana played a smoky innings of 124 runs in just 64 balls, including 21 fours and 7 sixes. With this innings, she became the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket.
Mithali Raj played 12 Tests, 232 ODIs and 89 T20Is during her illustrious international career and scored a total of 10,868 runs. She is now in second position on this list.
Smriti is at the top of the list of highest run-scorers in women’s international cricket with 10,880 runs.
Smriti Mandhana also broke the record for scoring the most centuries in women’s international cricket during the same innings.
Smriti Mandhana’s innings of 124 runs against Hong Kong was her 18th century in international cricket, surpassing former Australian captain Meg Lanning and current South African captain Laura Woolworth with 17 centuries each.
