BHIMBER (Kashmir English): In light of the escalating tensions with India, the Deputy Commissioner Bhimber has issued instructions to ensure the security measures of educational institutions.
According to the notification issued today, the measures were taken under the National Action Plan to safeguard institutions, especially those located near the Line of Control (LoC).
The notification instructed all heads of educational institutions to take timely measures to ensure security.
“The institutions located on the Line of Control are strongly urged that in view of the sensitivity of the situation, timely measures can be taken regarding the institutions, and steps should be taken to ensure the safety of children,” the notification added.
The education department further urged to avoid taking lectures in groups, instead use classrooms as far as possible
“In case of any emergency, contact should be established immediately with the control room office. The head teachers of the institutions located on the LOC can contact the emergency cell established in the tehsil office at any time,” it added.
The notification further strictly instructed the students to avoid picking up or touching any toy-like bags or packets found on the road.
“Immediately report any suspicious object or person to the concerned security agency or police,” it added.
“Avoid listening to and spreading any rumors or false news related to the current situation and trust only the news and information received from authentic sources,” the instructions maintained.
The notification further directed that the watchman posted in the institution should be present in the institution in view of the situation.
