SKARDU (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has deployed the latest JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets at the Skardu Airbase amid the deteriorating situation with India.
The presence of these aircraft has not only increased the defense capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force but also further strengthened the defense preparedness on the northern borders.
Considering the strategic importance of the Skardu Air Base, this deployment is an important step, defense experts said.
The modern JF-17 Thunder Block III aircraft, deployed at Skardu Airbase, are equipped with AESA radar, PL-10E missiles, and electronic warfare systems.
These aircraft are not only capable of jamming enemy radar and communication systems, but their flight performance and combat capability have also increased significantly.
The geographical location of Skardu Airbase, which is located near the Line of Control (LoC), makes it strategically very important.
Through this deployment, the Pakistan Air Force is ready to respond quickly to any potential threat on the northern borders.
According to defense experts, this move will strengthen Pakistan’s air defense capabilities and ensure stability in the region.
The JF-17 Thunder Block III aircraft, manufactured at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra, are a symbol of self-reliance in Pakistan’s defense industry, which was developed with the cooperation of China, defense experts said.
