DHADAR (Balochistan) (Kashmir English): The security forces late on Friday repelled an attack on Dhadar police station in Balochistan and killed at least four terrorists.
According to reports, at least 15 to 20 terrorists from Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH) launched an attack on Dhadar Police Station, triggering a swift response from security forces deployed in the area.
The initial reports suggest that three to four attackers were killed during the exchange of fire that followed the assault.
Security forces quickly moved to secure the area and contain the situation.
Police response
The police station is located about 4 kilometres from Dhadar Circuit House and nearly 6 kilometres from Bolan Weir, where the headquarters of the 152 Air Defence Battalion is based. Police personnel at the station initially responded to the attack within their capacity.
Reinforcements were quickly dispatched to the scene with two counterterrorism teams led by the commanding officer of 152 Light Air Defence Regiment reaching the site immediately and mounting an effective response.
The timely engagement forced the attackers to retreat. Aerial action using VTOL assets was also carried out against the fleeing militants.
Three to four militants were killed during the exchange of fire while the attackers took away some of their dead and injured. One body, along with a weapon, was recovered from the scene.
One police official was however, martyred, and four others sustained injuries in the exchange. The injured were shifted to CMH Sibbi for treatment.
The law enforcement then launched a search and sanitisation operation in the area. Authorities are also monitoring nearby medical facilities to trace injured militants.
Officials said coordination and rehearsals between security forces and police will continue to further improve response mechanisms, as such joint efforts have already shown positive results.
