Secretary Health Visits Medical Facilities in Upper Neelum

NEELUM VALLEY, AJK (Kashmir Digital): Secretary Public Health Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Brigadier Aamir Raza Teepu, conducted a detailed visit to various public health centres in Upper Neelum.

The visit was especially meant for Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kel, RHC Janoi, and RHC Halmat.

During the visit, the Secretary Public Health reviewed the medical facilities provided to patients in the hospitals, administrative matters, staff performance, and the overall quality of service delivery.

Upon arrival at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kel, Medical Superintendent Dr. Muhammad Ashraf provided a detailed briefing to the Health Secretary regarding the emergency block, OPD, laboratory, pharmacy, wards, gynecology and child units, and other departments.

Secretary Brigadier Aamir Raza Teepu, inspected all units and thoroughly reviewed the attendance of medical and paramedical staff present there, availability of equipment, laboratory services, provision of medicines, and cleanliness arrangements.

During the visit, Brigadier Aamir Raza Teepu met with patients undergoing treatment in the hospital and their attendants and inquired about the facilities provided and the quality of treatment. Patients generally expressed satisfaction with the facilities.

The Secretary also inspected the RHC centres established in the remote areas of Janoi and Halmat in Neelum Valley, where he issued necessary instructions regarding staff shortage and the need for improvement.

He stated that despite difficult geographical conditions, providing all possible facilities to the public is the top priority of the Health Department, and all resources will be utilized for this purpose.

On this occasion, District Health Officer Neelum, Dr. Ghulam Nabi, also expressed his commitment that joint efforts will continue to improve health facilities in the remote areas of Neelum Valley, and practical steps will be taken for improvement.

The Health Secretary reiterated his commitment that the government will ensure the provision of better, quality, and timely medical facilities to the public by making ongoing reforms in the health sector more effective.

He said that the staff serving in Neelum Valley deserve special appreciation, and the department will continue to work for their encouragement and enhancement of facilities.
