ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Sources claim that the Supreme Court’s order regarding Imran Khan’s medical examination has claimed that the decision has weakened the justification being presented for a proposed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest.
The sources welcomed the Supreme Court’s direction for Imran Khan’s medical check-up at Shifa International Hospital, arguing that the development addresses the medical issue being cited by PTI supporters in connection with their planned September 27 mobilisation.
The sources further alleged that some PTI leaders and supporters had been using Imran Khan’s health as a basis for mobilising people and warned that the proposed protest could potentially lead to unrest.
It claimed that following the Supreme Court’s decision, the principal justification being presented for the PTI protest had been addressed and questioned whether the party would still be able to mobilise supporters on the same grounds.
The sources described the court’s decision as timely and said it had “taken the air out” of the PTI’s protest campaign.
