RIYADH (Kashmir English): The Saudi government will now penalize visitors who stay in the country beyond their permitted visit visa period with both fines and imprisonment.

The Saudi government has started to punish people who stay in the country after their visit visa ends with severe disciplinary measures. People who are forced to stay beyond their visa validity for any reason must inform the relevant authorities about their overstay.

Those who do not report their activities according to established timeframes will face substantial consequences. Saudi authorities have announced tough punishments for those who continue to stay after their visa expires.

The Public Security Department stated that failing to report a visitor’s overstay after the visit visa expires can lead to a fine of up to 50,000 riyals and imprisonment for up to six months.

Authorities in Saudi Arabia have arrested more than 1000 people during the past week because they broke residency, labor, and border security regulations.

The Public Security shared this update in a post on the social platform X, urging citizens and residents to report individuals who overstay on visit visas. Those who violate visa regulations may face strict legal action.

The authorities stated that if an expatriate resident fails to report a visitor’s overstay, they will face deportation from the Kingdom. The Public Security Department further urged Saudi citizens and expatriates not to provide transportation, employment, housing, or shelter to individuals who violate residency, labor, and border security laws. The government has instructed citizens to refrain from all types of contact with these foreigners.
