KOLKATA (Kashmir English): Former Chief Minister of the Indian state of West Bengal and head of the Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee, has made extremely shocking revelations regarding the assassination of Usman Hadi, a central leader of Bangladesh’s revolutionary movement.
On Tuesday, Banerjee claimed that she is aware of the real faces involved in this high-profile murder, but due to national and diplomatic implications, she is currently not disclosing their names.
Addressing a large protest rally in central Kolkata on Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee openly leveled a barrage of accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) federal government for the first time.
She stated that the Modi government at the center is hiding extremely sensitive information and evidence related to the Usman Hadi murder case from the public.
Former Indian Chief Minister’s claims
The former Chief Minister further claimed, revealing sensational details, that the culprits involved in the murder of Usman Hadi, a central figure of Bangladesh’s organization ‘Inqilab Manch’, had entered West Bengal via the border of the Indian state of Meghalaya.
Upon receiving information about their arrival, West Bengal’s ‘Special Task Force’ (STF) immediately took action and arrested the culprits.
Mamata Banerjee also revealed that immediately after the arrest of the culprits, she received a call from Indian Home Minister ‘Amit Shah’.
She claimed that ‘Amit Shah’ requested her not to disclose the details of the case and the identities of the culprits to the public, as the matter is directly linked to ‘national interest’.
Mamata Banerjee stated that she had remained silent for a long time in the interest of the country and the region, but after the alleged political pressure and retaliatory actions by the federal government in recent days, she is now compelled to speak the truth.
On the other hand, there has been no immediate official response from the federal government in New Delhi to these serious allegations by Mamata Banerjee.
During her speech, Mamata Banerjee questioned who gave the final order for Usman Hadi’s assassination? She clearly indicated that she is well aware of the names of the conspirators.
Explaining why she was not revealing names, she said, “I know who ordered the murder and whose names came forward.
“Governments can change, but I know everything. If I reveal the names now, there could be severe political repercussions and upheaval in Bangladesh.”
