BAGH, AJK (Kashmir English): The District Returning Officer (DRO) has withheld the result of LA-16 Bagh constituency and ordered re-polling at 12 stations after clashes between PML-N and PPP workers on the polling day.
According to preliminary and unofficial results, PML-N candidate Sardar Mir Akbar Khan was in lead with 18,950 votes while PPP nominee Sardar Qamar Uz Zaman Khan was in second place with 15,750 votes.

According to the District Returning Officer, re-polling will be held at 12 polling stations of constituency LA-16 Bagh 3.

It is worth noting that during the day, PML-N and PPP supporters came face to face at some polling station in the constituency and six workers were injured in the clash.

The polling process was temporarily halted at polling station number 13 due to a severe fight between PML-N and PPP workers and disorder.

It is also worth noting that in 2021, in this same constituency, Sardar Qamar Uz Zaman Khan was a PPP candidate and Sardar Mir Akbar Khan contested election on a PTI ticket.

In 2021 as well, ballot boxes were burnt here after clashes, following which re-polling was held at some polling stations and Sardar Mir Akbar won the election with a lead of 400 votes.

Now in 2026, the same situation has arisen again and the matter has moved toward re-polling.

It is also worth noting that Sardar Qamar Uz Zaman Khan and Sardar Mir Akbar Khan both belong to the same clan and there had been a neck-and-neck competition between them every time.

Sardar Qamar Uz Zaman Khan has been practicing politics from the PPP platform for a long time, while Sardar Mir Akbar has changed parties in the last three elections.
