RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): A Pakistan Rangers soldier, Ali Raza, embraced martyrdom while three police personnel sustained injuries following violent attacks by protesters of the banned Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
After the successful conduct of the first phase of Azad Kashmir elections starting Mirpur Division, the frustrated Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has taken the path of violence.
According to a Rawalakot police statement, at 10:00 PM, the banned organization attempted to carry out a long march toward Rawalakot.

“Upon being stopped, they opened fire and injured two police personnel. Now, according to the latest situation, the banned JAAC attacked a security post on the outskirts of Rawalakot.”
“In the attack on law enforcement agencies, Rangers soldier Ali Raza embraced martyrdom,” said the police.
The police said that three police personnel were also injured in attacks by violent protesters of the banned JAAC.
It further said riotous elements set one vehicle each of the Rangers and police on fire.
“Law enforcement agencies demonstrated extreme restraint and professional responsibility despite severe provocation.”
To sabotage the successful electoral process, JAAC resorted to violence, arson, and attacks on law enforcement agencies.
Attacks on government officials, public property, and security forces expose the violent intentions of JAAC.
The writ of the state will be maintained at all costs, and elements involved in violence, arson, and attacks will be brought to justice, the officials said.
Security forces are committed to protecting the lives and property of the public, establishing law and order, and defending the democratic process, said the police sources.
They also appealed to the public to avoid rumors and misleading propaganda and to rely only on verified information.
